Comins Tea House, Sturminster Newton, Dorset

"In my dreams I live in Sturminster Newton so I can go to Comins Tea House every single day."
- The Foodie Bugle

Sturminster Newton, Dorset

Comins Tea House is a place to come and enjoy our fine single estate loose-leaf teas accompanied by delicious locally sourced food.

You can also visit us to talk tea and purchase your fine loose leaf tea and Comins Tea House teaware in person.

We have two Tea Houses - one is situated in one half of the Quarterjack; a beautiful Georgian building on Bridge Street, Sturminster Newton & the other in the historic and beautiful town of Bath at 34 Monmouth Street.

The home of Comins Tea is Sturminster Newton which is set in the heart of the beautiful Blackmore Vale area of Dorset in a meander of the River Stour. The town is famous as the home of poet and author William Barnes, and, for part of his life, Thomas Hardy. Now it is a bustling market town with many individual shops, pubs, a great museum and cultural centre (The Exchange) and and lovely walks across open fields to the picturesque mill.

The teahouse and attached property has had a varied history. In the late 1800s and well into the 1900s it was Roses Printers and stationery shop before later becoming the Blackmore Vale Private Hotel & Card shop. It now houses our unique Tea House where we serve locally sourced produce alongside our fine teas as part of our morning menu, light lunches and afternoon tea.

How to find our Sturminster Newton Tea House [HQ]

The Tea House is situated on Bridge Street. If you are coming from the A357, cross the bridge and continue up the hill towards the center of town. Comins Tea House is on the left hand side before you reach the Fish & Chip shop. Parking is available throughout the town. A small car park can be found at Riverside Meadows, opposite the Bull Inn, which makes for a very pleasant stroll into town over the bridge and up the hill to the Tea House.
